– 3 shallots, chopped
– 4 red chilies, chopped
– 1 tsp turmeric powder
– 1 tsp coriander powder
– 1 tsp cumin powder
– Salt and sugar to taste

Instructions:
1. In a blender, blend the garlic, shallots, red chilies, turmeric powder, coriander powder, cumin powder, salt, and sugar into a smooth paste.
2. In a pot, heat some oil and sauté the spice paste until fragrant.
3. Add the beef cubes and cook until they are browned on all sides.
4. Add the coconut milk, kaffir lime leaves, lemongrass, and galangal to the pot. Simmer on low heat for 2-3 hours or until the beef is tender and the sauce has thickened.
5. Serve the daging sapi rendang with steamed rice or ketupat (rice cakes).
